Hi,I've been running courier-imap for some time, without problems, using thunderbird as client. Recently I didn't have much internet access for a while and didn't do my usual periodic emptying of trash. Now I find I can't 'empty trash' - I get a timeout from thunderbird. I also get a timeout if I try sending more than one or two mails to trash (eg 'delete mail marked as spam'). And I can't see into the Trash directory, either.I'm not sure if the problem is size or file corruption. In either case, I don't know how to clear it. Can I do a manual deletion of some files in the .Trash directory? If so, which? Or is there another way round this?
The only possible "corruption" that can be is filesystem-level corruption, in which case they should get logged to syslog.
Run fsck on your mail partition first, to repair any filesystem damage. You can always manually remove files from the Trash folder, manually.
