Since when are bugs and bug shooting a popularity contest? I work hand in glove daily with both our QA division and our Consumer Support Divisions. Bug is Bug.... When it comes in the door We evaluate them immediately. They get moved from confirmed to assigned within 24 hours (and I have the nag in Bugzilla set to start e-mailing the heck out of personnel if needed.) Yes I know large numbers of bugs get reported ... Yes I know it's a hassle. Yes I get developers yelling "I can't do anything else but fix bugs" to which I generally reply "Yes?" And yes 90% of the "bugs" we get hit with are actually problems with the distro not our product, and mostly do to changes to improve things that break what the consumer is used to. Fine ... that's part of doing business. But let me ask you this.... Do you honestly think one of the largest firms in the industry (who is now using our product) would like it if we told them "We'll fix your bug when we get enough votes."..... *sigh* > > > The current cooker is no where near release quality right now.
