I don't believe this is really a bug, since the free driver for the hpt372 
only allows the controller to act as a standard ATA controller.  Perhaps the 
bug is that it allows you to configure the RAID despite the fact that it is 
not supportted.

In my view, setting as a standad ATA controller and using Linux software RAID 
is preferable anyway

1)Installer detects ata100raid/0 fine.  :)
2) after partitioning ect. installer asks for a restart, restarts.
( ext3 fs the only option for formatting the raid? )
3) installer complains about bad partitions but installs fine.
4)when it goes back for a reboot the HPT bios says that Raid Array is broken and
asks for it to be deleted or hidden.
