This is a duplicate of Frank Griffin's request to the Cooker mailing list on
December 22, 2002, but I thought I'd enter it into Bugzilla as well.

Mandrake 9.0 and 9.1RC1 do not support Adaptec SCSI Ultra320 adapters (which use
the 79xx chipset series). The aic79xx series is NOT supported by the aic7xxx
driver.
At the author's website, you can download the newest Adaptec code for building
both the aic7xxx and aic79xx modules:
http://people.freebsd.org/~gibbs/linux/SRC/
As of today, the lastest source there is for version 1.3.2 of the Adaptec
driver. Incidentally, kernel 2.4.21-pre4-ac6 contains a slighly earlier version
(1.3.0) of the Adaptec 79xx driver in directory:
drivers/scsi/aic7xxx/
I hope this makes it into 9.1! :-)
