Your reality differs from mine. I have used an installation with swedish as my language as i had problem with gnumeric, so be prepared. When I run as root, draksound I get: (my translation) No soundcard could be found in the computer. Check that the soundcard has support from Linux and that it is properly fastened. You may search through our base of supported hardware. URL Observe: If you have an ISA card you must use sndconfig &c. Then I checked in /etc/modules.conf and found that nothing was introduced from sndconfig. I then made a copy from my modules.conf from 9.0 and did install realplayer and exactly as for the last three weeks I got sound for about 1 second then silence for 5 sec and then 1 sec sound &c.
