Hi

I had some problem with currency in gnumeric-1.0.12-1mdk
and went to their list. I had the following:
[guran@localhost guran]$ locale
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8
 LC_NUMERIC=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_TIME=en_US.UTF-8
 LC_COLLATE=en_US.UTF-8
 LC_MONETARY=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8
 LC_PAPER=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_NAME=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_ADDRESS=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_TELEPHONE=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_MEASUREMENT=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_IDENTIFICATION=sv_SE.UTF-8
 LC_ALL=
 [guran@localhost guran]$

According to Jody Goldberg the1.0.x series does not support utf8.
You have to use single byte encoding or the 1.1.x series.

regards
guran
