Your right on the money on this one.  I've got a number of Linux boxes
I've "fixed" just by updating hosts file.  The question that comes next
is always... "But how was I supposed to know to do that."  We are moving
from the era of "I love it cause its fun to tweak" to " I love it cause
it just works." Untill factories start installing Linux by default
routinely it's going to be user installed and many of them are new, and
don't know the tweaks.
