Hello, I installed Cooker yesterday, but I am not impressed by some of the default KDE settings. Especially fonts were awful by default. I could fix it by replacing the adobe-helvetica font to the Sans font in kcontrol and Konqueror and by switching on anti-aliasing. Also in konsole, the default Fixed font is really ugly, the Courier 10 pitch font does look much better. Could these settings be the default?
Another problem: When you're using 1024x768 resolution, there is too less space in the taskbar for active tasks. I would propose to remove some of the application icons from the kicker (they could be put on the desktop instead?), by not showing the date by default and by lowering the number of virtual desktops to 2. This gives at least reasonably enough space for tasks. Another cosmetic problem: there seems to be too much space between desktop icons and their text (also in Konqueror when using icon view).
