There was a change before yesterday in the script that was run when you select
restart (and the other options).  I believe this is related to that change,
rather than being strictly a kdebase error.  I can confirm that this does
happen, is annoying, and needs to be fixed before 9.1 is released.  You can
always log in as root and execute an init 6 to reboot.

I can't vote for this bug because I already voted for the CSV popup bug in konq.

Using yesterday's cooker, clicking on 'K' (lower-left screen), then 'Logout
"username"', I got a dialog with 3 radio controls: logout, restart and shutdown.
 I selected restart.  Rather than restarting, it logged me out, and killed X,
giving me a text-mode login prompt.

Rebooting Mandrake and trying the same procedure again, the same thing happened.
