                    root partition

          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2

During Mandrake 9.1 beta 3 installation, I configured Grub to be installed on
/dev/hda7, because I have a dual boot system and want to keep the Windows XP
boot loader the same. But upon finishing the Mandrake install, I rebooted and
found that Grub had been installed on the Master Boot Record. Fortunately, I am
still able to boot Windows XP and Linux. But this is certainly a major problem
that needs to be fixed. Thanks!

My system is a Sony Vaio R505DL laptop, P3 1GHz, 256 MB, i830 video.
By the way, you guys did a great job with this -- the installation recognized
the CDROM drive in my docking station (through the Firewire interface) and
installed fine (except for the problem above).
