From: "[Bug 1334]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1334 | | Upgraded from beta2 to beta3. Please see bug:1236 for history | | I can now find the intergrated 3Com nic in DrakConnect but still cannot | connect to the internet (it seems there's incomming data from the 3com lan | port but no outgoing data). |
You have to boot with 'linux pci=noacpi' to get it to work ! The acpi support is not finished for the nforce2 ... | I still can't see my NVnet network port in drakconnect (even after selecting | it from the list of Nic's). | | When I try to modprobe NVnet it cannot be found. I am running an ASUS Nforce2 | mobo with intergrated 3Com nic & intergrated Nvidia nic (both are contained | within the Nforce2 chipset). | Nvidia network support does not exist in the kernel since it's not GPL. You have to get the drivers from www.nvidia.com | When listing the harware in my machine I can see the NVNet hardware but cannot | load the NVnet kernal module. Have tried installing the Binary RPM for | Mandrake9 over the top to see if that works (which it doesn't). Have also | tried recompiling the latest source Nvidia nforce tar.gz file but I get make | errors. | You have to recompile the source rpm, and to do that you need the linux kernel source installed. and the correct 'build' symlink according to the error message that shows up when you try to recompile it without the link.
