------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-24 14:24 ------- I've tried the 9.1 beta 2 as well, and the problem is still existing. The whole installation process stops right after IDE/Firewire/Sound detection process started. The partition part never shows. The messages that I get are like this: > usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 2047 The frame# changes from time to time. > intitializing USB Mass Storage driver... > usb.c registered new driver usb-storage > scsi0: SCSO emulation for USB Mass Storage devices > Vendor: Apacer Model: Embedded Reader Rev: 3.02 > Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 The kernel spits out this: > Unable to read partition table on sda Or something like that. I do not have any SCSI devices, other than the Apacer Embedded Card Reader that is emulated. > usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0xd7d/0x240) is not claimed by any active driver. > Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000004 > printing eip Lots of debug here.. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] description: When I try to install Mandrake 9.1 beta, the whole installation process goes very slow. I get USB hub error messages every third second or so (on the debug screen). Then, it eventually hangs and stops to respond after approximately 15-30 minutes (and shows a kernel dump). The problem is non-existent/resolved if I disable the USB port where my Apacer Embedded Card Reader is connected (See this url for the hardware: http://www.apacer.com/product/flash/EmbeddedCardReader/EmbeddedCardReader.htm). I get the same problem on Mandrake 9.0 also.
