------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-22 18:55 ------- Sorry to say this, but after my PC died a horrible death (the motherboard blew up) I upgraded my entire PC. Therefor I am unable to verify if this bug still persists in Mandrake Linux 9.1 beta 2 (or Cooker). Perhaps other PIO-mode 4 users could report/try? ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] description: I'm using a older Toshiba 32x Speed CD-ROM: Type XM-6202B (PIO-mode 4). Mandrake refuses to enter stage 2 when installing. It probably turned the CD-ROM player on as an UDMA enabled CD-ROM player. The error messages where however unclear. I found out that it does install with the prompt: linux ide=nodma This however severly slows down the install (the HDD uses nodma as well?). Mandrake should properly check if the CD-ROM is or is not DMA and set the correct settings, or at least a clear msg :)
