AND IF RPM WORKED RIGHT, then:
'rpm -q --qf "%{SOURCE}" --spefile <spec file>'
would actually give you the source url, and I would be able to finish my
bash script which builds packages from Mandrake CVS and the original
source. This would compete with Gentoo's portage stuff. I am sure after
a proof-of-concept is completed, people would see how useful it could
be, and maybe Mandrakesoft would have someone spend a bit of time and
make a gui for it.
And then we would pick things like modified source (in nvtv for example)
very quickly. I will submit a srpm that fixes this today.
I would file a bug in bugzilla, but my existing bug for rpm (clean exit
and package creation when files listed in %doc are missing) has had no
attention or even been acknowledged.
