It's not a serious problem, but takes getting used to (from my
experience with MacOS I expect the icon, in this situation, to disappear
and reappear :)

I find everything works perfectly if I do things in the following order:

i. put the Clie in the cradle and start the connection (via MS Import);

ii. power up the PC and boot into Mandrake.

iii. don't unmount then remount the Clie [via the command line]
thereafter.

If I _do_ unmount and remount things can get very confused, with error
messages of the type '<mount directory> is a read-only filesystem' on
trying to copy files to the Memory Stick either via Nautilus or the
command line.

I've also noticed that j-pilot doesn't work when the Memory Stick is
mounted. This is again not a surprise, as the Clie is trying to sync and
maintain the supermount at the same time, but probably needs to be
pointed out somewhere.

However, for all its quirks the supermount is _far_ more convenient than
Windows when a proprietary Sony application has to be installed to
recognise the Memory Stick as a drive ... and triggers crashes galore :)
