Well, getting better every try. Install went flawless (well done!)
Sound is working now (although the KDE initializing errors of /dev/dsp being busy are still popping up) on CS461x chipset eth0 is not being activated (Xircom card is initialized) but not dhcp activated - no IP address on startup - I have to manually type: ifup eth0 after each startup. I went into MCC and activated the eth0 device - rebooted and still no success. Stopping squid on shutdown still complains about line -28: 20670 Aborted. I would still like to know what this means on boot up: disabling logo echo: cannot open /proc/splash for write: 2 All in all a great improvement!! If you keep this up - 8.2 will be the best ever!
