Hello, It appears that all the /usr/lib/menu/kdegame-* entries are missing a ".". Once they are all removed update-menus works and all the menus come back. Not sure if this fixed the cog wheels in the task bar, I also installed kdelibs-2.2-5mdk at the same time, but they have gone now and all the kde applnk's are restored. Owen
