On the Linux-Kiosk mailing list, we have been discussing the
robustness problems associated with ext2 on unattended machines, and
one poster has reported great success using the SGI XFS.
My only problem with this choice is having based my eyes-free
internet appliance on Mandrake; I expect the SGI 2.4 kernel could be
patched to match the Mandrake RPMs, but I'd rather not re-invent the
wheel.
Has anyone else has faced this situation before? Is there already be
an XFS-aware Mandrake-patched 2.4 RPM available somewhere?
