SiS-6326 is the chip on the display card, not the computer or even the
display card itself.
My experience with SiS chips is that you can line several 6326 cards
and/or built-in-video motherboards up (sequential serial numbers, even)
and get different results out of each one. Some need software
everything, some work fine with ``the hammer to the metal'' - and the
same holds for Windows as for X.
I note with mixed feelings that later versions of XFree86 seem to have
become better at dealing with SiS irregularities.
