I'm posting this for a mandrakeexpertuser:
My sis5513 IDE controller hangs with all 2.4
kernels
And that makes me unable to install Mandrake
except with the 2.2 kernel which is not very
usable!
but i found a patch by Andre Hedrick
ftp://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/
it's for the 2.4.18 & 2.4.20
But i have to disable the sis5513 support during
the configure of the 2.4 kernel.
I don't know if it'll be selfishness. But can this
be included in mandrake 9 ? or is it too late ??
