It would seem that I have erred in my judgement. I'm not sure yet what the
cause is but i think I've figured it out. I recently started experiencing
random lockups when using the keramik style. I finally got "persuaded" to
find some sort of fix when my computer locked up in the middle of me typing a
paper.
So in i go to the innards of my computer and nothing I find until by chance I
remember that I installed the newest kernel and realize by some marvellous
twist of fate i didn't have to recompile my nvidia drivers. I look into it
more and realize that the initrd being used is from 9.0 (supermount fix)
kernel but the actual kernel is cookerized. Hmmm, and the wheels start
turning.
Couple minutes later i do a mkinitrd restart on sure enough 1.) X crashes and
2.) acpi works. This pretty confirms my suspicions that my suspicions that i
was using modules from the old kernel in the new kernel. Which means that the
NVIDIA modules weren't exactly in sync. My expert opinion is now that the
galaxy theme was not in fact causing my lockups. I still don't know if the
problems will show up again. I'll consider it gone after about a week without
rebooting. LET THE TESTING BEGIN ... anew
