Hi!

I hope I don't annoy people when I keep posting stuff I noticed...

Since the latest upgrades, I get messages during bootup like:
oops, cannot find those messages in any logfile... But anyway, during
system bootup it complains when executing /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
that operations concerning /var/log/dmesg would bot be allowed.
You know, those "dmesg > /var/log/dmesg" lines. The same with
.../init.d/mandrake_everytime.

I looked at /var/log/dmesg. Strange.
[root@gloomy rc.d]# cd /var/log/
[root@gloomy log]# ls -l dmesg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3108 Nov 27 11:34 dmesg

ok. But:
[root@gloomy log]# rm dmesg
rm: remove `dmesg'? y
rm: cannot unlink `dmesg': Die Operation ist nicht erlaubt

(rm: cannot unlink `dmesg': Operation not permitted)

Why? The init scripts may not write to that file, root cannot do
anything with this file. I don't understand...

                            Kai.
