The UCL Institute of Archaeology is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in 
Conservation for two years (in the first instance), with the appointment 
available from 30 September 2019.

Salary (inclusive of London allowance): £39,353 to £42,701 per annum. Full time.

Duties And Responsibilities:

The role will include delivery of lectures, seminars and tutorials, practical 
conservation training and supervision, supervision of dissertation training and 
research, creating pedagogical material, marking assignments, organising and 
leading field projects and visits, and assisting in student recruitment. 
Candidates should also be ale to contribute to general teaching in conservation 
that reflects a critical understanding of contemporary conservation theory, in 
order to support students wishing to develop topics in undergraduate and 
postgraduate dissertations in conservation.


Key Requirements:

The successful applicant will have a postgraduate qualification in object 
conservation, expertise in interventive and preventive conservation, and 
experience in heritage/museum conservation. Candidates must be able to 
coordinate and teach core modules in interventive and preventive conservation 
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and must also be prepared to 
contribute to general teaching in conservation for shared modules. An ability 
to supervise preventive and interventive conservation projects, with a focus on 
practical conservation object treatments, is essential.
