No tone was intended. All I was saying is that you keep telling Betty it's too expensive to run FiOS to her in the sticks of eastern MD. The article you posted a link for gave the figures of $750 for the build (per household), $600 to the house, and a 50% take rate.

As for Pedro an' them, all I know is what I see. Non-Anglo-Saxon or non-African-American individuals running the picks and shovels. Documented or not, union or not, I don't know.

If they are union contractors paying good wages, then it's a sad state of affairs given a 10% unemployment rate that they'd still have to go off-shore to find people willing to do the work.

Or maybe I'm hypersensitive on this issue.
