BTW, for other committers watching this, my tests using the tarball on trunk
says that this de-dupe works. At least, I'm able to launch all the daemons.
After [~vinayrpet] finishes putting up with my shell nitpicky-ness :) , I'm
pretty much a +1 and will commit to trunk unless someone has an objection...
