Thank you for the suggestion! That makes a lot of sense.
Since I’m still getting familiar with the workflow here, I really appreciate
the guidance. I’ll go ahead and create an Uber JIRA "Risc-V" support and link
this and other related tasks as subtasks or linked issues under it.

> Upgrade os-maven-plugin to 1.7.1 to support riscv64
> ---------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: HADOOP-19615
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-19615
> Project: Hadoop Common
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Components: build
> Affects Versions: 3.3.0, 3.4.1
> Reporter: Lei Wen
> Priority: Minor
> Labels: pull-request-available
>
> *Problem*
> When building Hadoop on the riscv64 architecture, the current version of
> os-maven-plugin (1.7.0) fails with the following error:
> os.detected.arch: unknown
> org.apache.maven.MavenExecutionException: unknown os.arch: riscv64
> This indicates that version 1.7.0 does not recognize or support the riscv64
> target, causing native or plugin-based build failures.
> *Resolution*
> Upgrading os-maven-plugin to version 1.7.1 resolves the issue. The newer
> version includes updated architecture detection logic and supports riscv64
> without error.
