I have built hadoop for IBM PowerLinux, based on branch-1 source, and I would
like to contribute to the Wiki a guide on how to do so. I'm adding here a
version for revision and contribution, on MoinMoin wiki format.
A few notes about it and some Jira's related to that:

This is need to compile jsvc binary for power. The latest version of
commons-daemon (1.0.10) is not building. There is also a need to apply a patch
from fedora project :

The patch to compile fuse-dfs is not ready yet, but there is a workaround which
consists of changing the value of AM_LDFLAGS in Makefile.am file.
