HADOOP-14283 highlights an issue which may arise with the 1.11. releases.
Whatever ships with 2.7 and 2.8, it shouldn't reintroduce this regression ...
which then exposes you to all the other regressions and turmoil we've hit
(HADOOP-14890....)
