checkstyle issues, those which are valid (the new style checker is overreacting)
This is proving harder than expected as the fact the initial test run is so
slow run remotely that it's hard to do the full regression testing. I'm taking
a break from this to go back to s3guard and the committer: if anyone else wants
to take this up...
