Really appreciate the help.
Please commit this patch to branch-2 and branch-2.8.
Also please commit the followup HADOOP-12700 to branch-2 and branch-2.8 as well.
And while at it, could someone review HADOOP-12701 so that problem like
HADOOP-12700 would never happen again?
