review the HDFS JIRA and provide your suggestions/enhancements (in addition to
moving your comments above) before work starts on a detailed design.
This JIRA is a Parent/Umbrella JIRA and it would be good to keep it as basic as
possible (with only business needs).
I created this JIRA, since I need a place where other JIRAs can link to and
refer to, that is all. Additionally, I have used it to list out some business
needs that will serve as a basis for all other JIRAs using this theme.
HDFS specific enhancements can be found at
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-9607.
MVCC and other enhancements will belong to other Hadoop layers such as ORC,
HIVE, etc. unless there is really a compelling need for specific functionality
to be addressed at the HDFS layer.
