The queries are disabled not just due to consumption catch up. In fact, the consumption part was added much later. The original intent (and that is still there) to hold queries was to make sure that all the segments assigned to the server are loaded and in ONLINE state. The number of CONSUMING segments (that need to do the event catchup) are usually a small fraction of the total number of segments in a host. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
