+1 to the feature. We have a similar request but for a different reason. When we bootstrap an upsert table using the real-time segment push, we need to pause the real-time ingestion. Otherwise the upsert metadata will hit a race condition. Though it's possible to implement this pause internally, making it explicit will simplify the implementation and make it safer for operations. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
