(Sorry, just noticed this, missed your reply earlier) I can definitely monitor it outside of Pinot, querying timestamp of the latest entry or based on consumer offsets as you mentioned. Something approximate should work for us for now atleast. Thanks for the resources, I was not aware of Burrow & kafka-lag-exporter. I was thinking if Pinot already provided these I could avoid adding the extra layer, but given these systems help me monitor all the consumers it will definitely be worthwhile to go with them.
