Great idea. I would add the following - for dictionary encoded columns.. encrypt/decrpyt dictionary only and skip forward index (can we be done in small chunks as well) - for raw forward index, chunk compressor can be enhanced to encrypt/decrypt -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
