Okay I think you are recommending to support a drop down for UI i.e. for https://github.com/apache/pinot/issues/14068. I agree this is the right way to go for UI experience. Also since we want to go with original intent, and hence do not want to support even a listing across databases, so it does not make sense to even allow an API to do what I have proposed here.
