Having the query option is required because it allows users to try both versions of the query in the same cluster. Otherwise, they would need to either have two clusters or change the option, which could cause possible failures in queries that have not been updated yet. Even if we ultimately aim to support function names and types more closely aligned with Postgres in the long term, having a mechanism to support multiple operator sets will be beneficial during migrations. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
