### Problem CDC Tools reads `scan.startup.mode` as a string and manually maps supported values in MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle and DB2 database synchronization. An unrecognized value falls through to the initial snapshot default instead of being rejected. For example, `--postgres-conf scan.startup.mode=initial-offset` is accepted even though this source maps only `initial` and `latest-offset`. This can silently run an initial snapshot when the caller intended a different startup position. MongoDB synchronization already rejects unsupported modes. ### Expected behavior Reject unsupported mode values with an error naming `scan.startup.mode`, the supplied value and the modes supported by the selected source. Preserve the existing default, case-insensitive matching and all currently supported mappings. ### Validation Reproduced against current master through PostgreSQL and SQL Server source construction. A prepared patch validates all five source mappings and adds unit regression coverage. The complete DatabaseSyncTest class passes 13 tests after the fix; all five option defaults were checked and remain `initial`. No live CDC database job was executed.
