# Proposed changes Issue Number: [5664](https://github.com/apache/doris/issues/5664) ## Problem summary - Implement branch prediction util. For more details: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/7346929/what-is-the-advantage-of-gccs-builtin-expect-in-if-else-statements - To avoid the coredump memtioned in above issue, adding the validation of pointer before using it.
