WingsGo opened a new issue #2488: Support convert VARCHAR type to DATE type URL: https://github.com/apache/incubator-doris/issues/2488 Now, users can change column type from VARCHAR type to DATE type by ALTER TABLE table_name MODIFY COLUMN k1 DATE. Currently support six formats: "%Y-%m-%d", "%y-%m-%d", "%Y%m%d", "%y%m%d", "%Y/%m/%d, "%y/%m/%d". If the string value is invalid, the shema change will fail and don't change any data.
