omarsmak opened a new pull request #3832:
URL: https://github.com/apache/camel/pull/3832

This is an initial proposal on how I want to add the support of the category
field to the @UriEndpoint annotation.
   Few points:
   - I think would be better if we only add categories for the technology
abstraction, not the detailed technology, e.g: "cloud" would be better as
"azure" or "aws", "database" would be better as "mysql", "postgress" ..etc
   - I am not really sure if the Category enum location should be placed under
the main `org.apache.camel`, perhaps `org.apache.camel.catalog` could be
better?
   - For the maven plugin, it will check first for `category` field, if it
fails, it will check for the `label` field.

If you guys think this would make sense, I'd go ahead to add the necessary
modifications into the maven plugin, add more categories .. etc

[ ] Make sure there is a [JIRA
issue](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL) filed for the change
(usually before you start working on it). Trivial changes like typos do not
require a JIRA issue. Your pull request should address just this issue,
without pulling in other changes.
[ ] Each commit in the pull request should have a meaningful subject line
and body.
[ ] If you're unsure, you can format the pull request title like
`[CAMEL-XXX] Fixes bug in camel-file component`, where you replace `CAMEL-XXX`
with the appropriate JIRA issue.
[ ] Write a pull request description that is detailed enough to understand
what the pull request does, how, and why.
[ ] Run `mvn clean install -Psourcecheck` in your module with source check
enabled to make sure basic checks pass and there are no checkstyle violations.
A more thorough check will be performed on your pull request automatically.
