Sorry this went unanswered. The `connect timed out` comes from the Eclipse Paho MQTT client used by the connector (the mqtt-source Kamelet is built on Camel's paho component): the Kafka Connect worker could not open a TCP connection to the broker, so this is a network issue rather than something in the connector, which has no proxy setting of its own. If the worker has to go through a SOCKS proxy, configure it for the Kafka Connect JVM with the standard Java system properties `socksProxyHost` and `socksProxyPort` (with Strimzi, under `spec.jvmOptions.javaSystemProperties` of the KafkaConnect resource), since proxy settings made on the host are not necessarily visible inside the Connect pod. Closing this as a configuration question; if camel-mqtt-source-kafka-connector on 4.22.x still cannot connect to a broker that is reachable from the worker, please open a new issue with the configuration and the full stack trace. --- _Claude Code on behalf of Andrea Cosentino_ -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
