Thanks for raising this, and sorry it stayed open so long. Shortly after this discussion started, the examples got their own repository (https://github.com/apache/camel-kafka-connector-examples), and the Kubernetes and OpenShift/Strimzi instructions now live in the user guide (https://camel.apache.org/camel-kafka-connector/next/user-guide/getting-started/try-it-out-on-kubernetes.html), so the examples/strimzi folder agreed here was never created. Bringing the Strimzi page up to date with current Strimzi releases is tracked in #986.
