Thanks @allthingssecurity, you are right: the counter is taken when the listener is created, before the connection is built, so a node registered during that attempt shared the generation of the connection's first value, and nothing ordered the report on the pool after it. Fixed in 66d3d312086 as you suggest: the report of a node registered without a connection carries generation 0, below every connection's, so any delivered value drops it.
