The POP3 consumer was added to the context before context.start(), so it began polling after just 100ms initialDelay. With two sequential SMTP sends happening after context.start(), the consumer could fire between the two sends and pick up only the first message, causing the mock to time out waiting for the second one. Fix by starting the context first (needed for the producer template), sending both messages into the mailbox, and only then adding the consumer route. Since context.addRoutes() on an already-started context auto-starts the new route, the POP3 consumer is guaranteed to find both messages already present on its first poll.
