# Description Tokens can be passed through the query parameters of the Splunk HEC component. In which case, the `token` query parameter takes precedence over the token defined in the URI's path parameter. However, currently, the URI may be logged unsanitized if the user were to provide the component with a malformed URI, potentially exposing sensitive values.
