Trouble is not much of plate left to copy it’s in such poor shape.

If you were here we could take it to Kato and they would make something out of stainless worthy of being in an art museum. As I found out when they made a fuel fitting for me, art is not cheap.

Reporting Back:

Everyone’s guidance was on point.  The mild metal that the idler pulley attach to is half its former self.

I called Edson they are working on a replacement design.  They will also need the old idlers since the new ones are two big However timeline isn’t certain.

Does  anyone have fabrication drawings of the plate? I am trying to keep my options open.

Appreciate all the feedback and guidance

When I replaced ours in 2003 or so on our then '89 37XL, it was due to the whole bottom pulley plate exit box failing, of course during a race, with full spin up at night on the back side of Block Island! Still won and got the gun, thanks to the under-deck autopilot.

When talking with Rob Ball, there were some design flaws as it is exposed to open salt air, water etc. So, check that well when replacing the cables. We had to remove the whole pedestal and re-tap as well. Good Luck!

I guess I was low-tech, I just took the old one to a rigging shop and said please make another 😊

Rob,

FYI, I used Chain & Wire Kit - 2B2D9 (77201) for my replacement 4 years ago.
