I had a standard horizon radio fail, and I returned it for repair through the
local dealer, Radio World world here in Toronto, who I believe sent it to their
supplier for repair. It took awhile but was a good experience overall, so
maybe if you just find a competent local dealer, they can do the rest.

Subject: Stus-List Marine VHF repair

My Standard Horizon fixed mount VHF has developed a "burnt" spot on the
display. Still fully functional but just looks bad. I really don't want to
buy a new one and have to deal with compatibility issues with the RAM mike,
etc. Mine has AIS so an equivalent replacement bumps $400.

I've tried to contact the Standard Horizon repair department but that, so far,
hasn't been productive. I found one site by Googling "marine radio repair" but
the date on that site was 2006.

Has anyone got a lead on a decent marine radio repair service?
