Okay, I fixed the problem. The issue was exactly as David pointed out, Visual Studio's default git does not work.
I moved my git installation's PATH entry to the beginning of the PATH variable and it now works! While I find it concerning VS2015's git doesn't work, I'm happy this works now. Thanks, @David.
