Well, I am glad Bill pointed at that possibility since this gives C users an
opportunity right now to deal with the issue (as well as holding the C
lapack/blas vendor's feet to the fire to make sure their big-bucks offering
is truly much better than the free (in both senses) version. Obviously,
this free C version is one of those that will have to be supported by the
robust C version of Find* for lapack and blas that we are discussing.
Lapack/Blas is the worst case I have ever seen of multiple free and vendor
versions. Of course, lapack/blas is extremely useful so everybody wants
to try their hand at an implementation.
